Fall Traditions

Words & Photography by Katie Murray

Fall is filled with comforts. The warm colour palette juxtaposed with the crisp, cool weather always leaves me feeling nostalgic yet brand new. Whether it’s the crunch of the leaves, or that familiar taste of pumpkin, Autumn seems to make us aware of the simplest pleasures. It has always been my favourite season due to the small celebrations that seem to come from each day.

One thing I look forward to around this time, every year, is a trip to Tougas Farm. A family owned farm in Massachusetts, Tougas has everything from an apple orchard to a pumpkin patch to a farm stand, which sells homemade baked goods. October just wouldn’t be the same without their pressed apple cider and cider donuts.

With it’s hand drawn signs, homemade pies, and various tents and stations around the farm that include kettle corn and caramel apples, Tougas Farm is nothing fancy; it’s home.
